Wondering what to get your riding instructor for Christmas? Birthday? Or just a huge thank you? Here are ideas straight from another professional!
Staying warm while teaching is one of the hardest things instructors struggle with in the winter! It’s perfect for the riders, just cool enough for them to warm up with movement, but sitting at C, or standing in the middle of the arena setting poles can take a toll. Give you instructor the gift of warmth!
2. Dressage Whiteboard for ease of diagram explanations!
Let me tell you! This board is worth it’s weight in gold! Ease of explanation for students who learn visually and kinesthetically. This board was gifted to me and I am obsessed!

A lesson (or two!) with your instructors favorite trainer or entry to a clinic!
There’s nothing an instructor loves more than learning. And usually, it’s because they are so passionate about teaching their students, they want to learn as much as possible. Finding a clinic your instructor would like to attend or buying them lessons from their current coach would make such an impact!
4. Save your trainers voice! Give them the gift of a CeeCoach.
After hours of yelling across the arena, or repeating instructions, it can take a toll on your instructors voice. Give them this gift to save their voice, and make your learning easier! This tool is also incredibly helpful in the warm up ring at shows! A CeeCoach was on my list of “Things” to buy for years, but it was never high enough on the priority list. I was finally gifted one and it has been one of the most useful gifts I’ve ever been given.

One thing us horse trainers don’t do much is something for ourselves or our spouses/family. Our career tends to take up a lot of time and energy, and we spend our resources furthering the business. A gift of spending a night with the people or person your horse trainer loves dearly is priceless. I have also been gifted spa treatments by numerous students and it is heavenly. Knowing they care about my wellbeing and taking time to relax as well is not only heartwarming but it is so appreciated. Riding Instructors work so hard and we take our clients progress personally. When our clients take personal stake in our own wellbeing too it makes our hearts skip a beat.
Blessings,
Katrina
